172 porting

while im waiting for new piston what benefits will I get from matching piston port to the barrel (which way do I take it out ) all so gas flowing barrel ports and casings cheers

Depends on you spec' and build quality. All the little bits you can do (exhaust, carb', head, porting, etc) by themselves don't make a fantastic difference (ok maybe the exhaust does

) but add them together and you get the big difference.
So yes it will make a difference but probably not a great deal.......IMO

the crank as been done by a proper company not in a shed and the standard carb (I think the very good carbs) as all been matched to the casings and the head as been done also ...ive got the exaust port like a mirror just need to no about the back port on the barrel cheers

If you are looking to increase high rpm power, the easiest way when you don't want to make any permenant change is just to jack the barrel up with a load of base gaskets or aluminium packer. Try about 1mm first and see how it goes. If its better try some more. Once you getting revving where you want it get the head skimmed to close the squish gap back down to where is was before you started.
