Do you have the original head modified? My understanding from the Malossi instructions was you use the gasket withthe standard head. Modified ones are normally setup for no gasket

If you modify the head as it says in the malossi booklet you need to use the gasket. I dremmelled the combustion edge at a 45 degree angle as per malossi instructions, used the head gasket provided and ran it flat out for the life of the first kit (4 years) but the compression was very high. I add 1% oil to the tank along with the autolube too. Always fully synth....well nearly always!
