Running in a new Italian barell. Piston and head

Hi I have just had a new italian 150cc Barell and piston fitted on my 1968 SX 150 would welcome any advice on running the top end in please.

0-200 miles no more then 1/3 throttle movement, the first 200 miles is critical for correct operation. Best use of scooter during this period is town driving, as it is constant stop start.
200-500 do not operate the scooter over half throttle, still stick to town riding whereever possible
500 - 750 your cylinder and piston is beginning to settle together, you can start to use more throttle through the gears. No high speed runs in forth gear should be attempted.
750-1000 Your cylinder and piston should be abut fully run in now, but before you make any high speed runs in forth gear to see how fast you can go, you should be happy all settings are correct, exhaust, jetting, timing etc..

... this is VERY important as the running in period applies to a factory assembled/standard spec engine. With most engines being a mish'mash of non-factory parts and assembled under non-factory conditions, running in will not correct any set-up issues... this is down to you to observe, test, and adjust or allow for accordingly. For me, the 900 miles of running in that Innocenti suggested is as much about set-up checking and adjustment as it is about wearing of piston, bore and rings to give the correct operating clearance.
My pal's seizure (and subsequent strip down, rebore, rebuild and start again with the running in again) on the first time he went beyond 3/4 throttle, after 1000 miles of low speed running in, is testament to running in alone not curing set-up issues... and he was returning from spending over £100 having it dyno'ed!
Running in is as much about checking and ensuring the motor is built correctly as it is about plodding through the miles.
