Electrex ignition wiring

Ok I have just got a 12v electrex ignition.
It has 5 wires coming out of the stator. Red white and green as normal that go to the cdi . Then it has 2 yellow wires as opposed to the usual single yellow wire.
The regulator/ rectifier has 4 ports. Earth , charge, feed from stator in and feed to lights out. So what's the second yellow wire from the stator for?

Don't the "normal" stators converted for Wassel DC have two yellow wires?
Just a thought.

If you use an AC regulator or a DC half wave rectifier, you must conect the second yelow wire to earth (frame).

Thanks Pepot. Does it matter which yellow wire goes to the frame?

Thinking about it. If the regulator has a full wave rectifier, then both yelow wires must go to the regulator (like in a wassel ). Then the exit port of the regulator would go to the battery. Check what kind of regulator is yours.

The regulator is a idm RR212 for ac lighting and dc battery charing made in Italy
It only has 4 ports but the stator has 5 wires,an extra yellow

Since you are going to use a battery, wouldn't be better using a wassel regulator? You just would only have to replace your AC horn for a DC one and run the rest of things from the battery.
