Removed Bump Stop - Issue on Series 2?

A good friend of mine heard that I was building a Series 2 from bits so he gave me a Jet 200 Case. It came off a race bike and the previous owner cut the bump stop off for more clearance. Will this cause issues on a Series 2 and is there a workaround such as a stiffer shocker? I am sure MB could easily fix it but I'm in the States and shipping to and from the UK would be costly. Would I be better off buying a new SIL case? Thanks!

just file it smooth you should not be bottoming out with the correct schockers

I understand its more of a safety issue.

If the rear shocker collapses/ shears off (unlikely I know but....), the bump stop stops the rear wheel from jamming in the rear mudguard of the bike and causing a skid (road and trousers :D ).

Also, over here, we would have to declare it as a modification when getting insurance.

Find a junker small block and rob the bump stop off that to have it welded back on. Also there are tons of good welders in the states, no reason to endure the shipping expense. When it's all said and done though it would be cheaper to replace the block (not by much though).

Or even have a vaguely cylindrical piece made and welded on - it's not a very high tech part of a Lammy.
