A good rear shocker choice that's adequate.

As the title says. I have for several years now, just used Escort rear shocks on me Lammies, a chrome one to suit the bike, but have just had one fail on the bushes. Now I know they are not the best, but they do the job of carrying me and my luggage around the country, well they have upto now . What I'm after is a good alternative for my scoot that will do the job and maybe offer a little more . Now I am not a race style rider, more of a steady to sports tourer, weigh 17 1/2 stone and carry gear on a sprint rack and 40% of the time saddle bags too. Not wanting to go too mad, although cost isn't the deciding factor, as I wonder how much suspension does a ladies shopping bike really need. I have used Bitubo's in the past, but found them totally a pain with either blowing seals or snapping at the top.. Now are the Yam R1 shocks any good for what I want, as they can be made colour co-ordinated to my scoot, or would I be better with one of the designed for a scooter shoicks. I have had a r1 on mine for about 6yrs no probs at all adjustable etc but I also have a protech on another scoot and tbh I think the protech
is a better shock good value for what it is, getting another for my new project, same weight-ish as you bla bla

ive just put one of these one - very decent chrome or gloss black powder coat

nice bushes, adjustable (like a vespa sebac - 4 positions on the collar) - made in japan for Hi Level

they come in 310 long - ideal for a bit of extra clearance

Thank you all for your input, very helpful. You know it's a strange area when yer looking for a shocker for what I require. There are plenty of all singing all dancing shocks out there, but to me I kinda look at it like, 'When is a shocker an overkill if you like,for what is required?' I've just found a Hagon in me shed, but have no idea where it came from, so will try that. Oh Gaz, what make is that shock you put up and where from/ how much, just out of curiosity. Hi Level are trade only so any bike shop/dealer can get you them - Allstyles have the chrome i got my black one from Brolam
