Hello

I have just swapped carbs on my Rapido 250. My phbh 28mm was leaking fuel, so I went for a VHST 24mm. I thought I ordered a 28mm version, but one too many Stella's last Friday and, hay ho, it ended up being a 24mm. I am not complaining though, as it seems to pull just as well as before.

I have had a reed valve (LTH) fitted and a bgm clubman V2. I have increased the main jet to 155 now from 140 and swapped out the needle and all the other jets from the old carb, except for the atomiser, because it's a different size.

It runs great and I have done a few plug-chops and all seems nice and brown, although it's maybe a little too light in colour for my liking.

The only problem I have really encountered is when I was pulling out into fast traffic, I opened the throttle to the hilt and it spluttered. When you back off a bit it runs great again, but it got me a bit worried.

Any ideas?
I don't want to keep up with modern traffic. I want to hoon past it, preferably on one wheel!

Sounds like your flooding it. Try a smaller main jet......and plug job.

With the smaller 24mm your not getting as much air in as before but you've kept the jet for the larger air intake of the 28mm.....IMO
