Very Weak Spark

I've a wassel set up on the LI and the spark is barely noticable and intermitent, really weak.
Took off the plug cap and tried just the HT lead, same.
Tried green from stator, same.
Took the ignition cut out from the CDI and its still the same.
Any suggestions?

Bloody hell you and electrics....
The Wassel part of it is nothing to do with the spark. Check your CDI check its grounded and your red white and green are connected the correct way round. Plug and Gap are good. I have spent a lot of time recently with Stators and have had a lot of problems with pickup heights but that affects firing points the spark is generated from the LV coil so worth metering that out.

LOL! Thanks mate. It's a BGM stator. I mentioned wassel because I've done the DC conversion. (in case that's relevant). Looking back at the problem that this engine had which was really poor running and it wouldn't rev and random cutting out and failing to restart.

You need to get a test meter on the green from the stator and earth to check the resistance which should be around 500 ohms being a BGM. Has the week spark just occurred or is it as the result of component change? Also, as Mony said, the DC conversion and Wassel have nothing to do with the ignition.

Lots of problems with BGM LT coils occuring recently (batch?) Shame as they were pretty good previousley, hope the problem gets 'rooted out' pronto else it is back to genine Piaggio T5 stators for me with the additional cost + fettle

My stator is quite old can't even remember when I bought it.

Did you check the stator green to the white and engine case, also white to engine case and engine case to frame just in case the problem is with the earth wire? What reading did you get? there must be some resistance in the coil for it to produce a spark at all.

Thanks Colin I'll check over the weekend and report back.

Green is giving me nothing.
White to Earth on stator or frame - 0.01
White to Red - 112.1
White to Green - Nothing at all.
Now I have a spare stator which I took off the GP a couple of years ago when the GP packed in and I get the same results with that above in that the green is dead.
EDIT: Just to add. I've tried the stator green to frame and there's a weak and intermitent spark
