It may be me but after having searched the forum there is no definitive answer to successfully getting this working (it seems Eden had a solution but there are references is to it, but no actual solution)..

does the 'mark 2' speedo have an inbuilt solution?
can i just connect the rev counter feed (brown wire?) to a yellow from the stator?
or is it more complicated than that?

Correct... Connect yellow from Stator to Brown from Speedo

I also found that I required a resistor plug to be fitted, or the whole lot was erratic (with or without temperature sensor)

+1 I've also a wassell and have conected the yellow from stator to the RPM counter. Since I was worried about using an unregulated source, first I conected a bulb to the yellow from stator and earthed to the body. It didn´t blow! even accelerating. Paying attention to the instructions booklet it sais that you must set a voltmeter to AC 20V and check if you have an AC flux between 10'5v and 12'5v. Thats more or less what you have if you measure from one of the yellow from stator and earth.
