What does a black slightly shinny (but seemingly not wet) plug generally mean? She's running okay bit boggy at low revs but quite nice to ride. Any ideas?

Thanks

John

I agree it indicates its too rich and I know its a bit boggy down low but otherwise it's running well. So is there any downside to this plug colour if its running well, starting first kick etc?

Fuel consumption is the most obvious one plus carbon build up. Have you changed/cleaned you air filter lately?

my plugs are always white, with a silver bit on the bottom, and some writing on them. been the same colour for years.

i had this problem, as I had the carb recently had a look and it was the choke cable not housed properly lifting it slightly and making it boggy at low revs and black plug.
