Comfy seat pad?

I have a little race seat, and a 100mile tank. Unfortunately, I don't have a race shaped arse, and its fit for about 50 miles.

What I want is a gel pad I can strap-on (perhaps with poppers) when I am doing big miles, and take off when I want it to. I met a guy at a motorcycle show last year who would custom build you such pads for about £40, but I lost his number.

I hear good thinks about airhawk, but is there anything else?

Do you know anyone in a wheelchair?

My boss has some sort of an airfilled cushion in his, and his is all day comfortable (no choice really..). His is custom made, but there are commercially available options.

Air Hawk air pads are what you want they are excellent. I normally get numb after about 35-40 miles :( but with my Air Hawk I rode from Lincoln to Whitby and back in a day with not problems :D :D .

My sister, but she does not have a gel or air filled seat pad.

I'll have another look at Airhawk, but they always seem to be shaped to suit Harley and other feet-forward machines.

On the wibbly-wobbly web, I've found the guy who I met at the motorcycle show last year. He trades as motorcyclegelpad.co.uk and the pillion gel pad looks to be the right size and shape for my seat.

Yes Martin, the item 251530493116 looks ideal, but it is still twice the price of the strap-on gel pad from motorcyclegelpad.co.uk. However, this air hawk does come with a free pair of Rok Straps, which have been highly recommended by Andy Gillard at Scootering.

I'm sure Lyndon Greene in our club has one and he swears by it, but he has single saddles. Also he bought it when he was in the states and said they're half the price over there.

OK, I'm opted for the gel pad. I've placed the order.

Whilst it might not be as comfortable as the air hawk, it is half the price, won't leak and it looks like (with a bit of fettling) it will fit better and easier than the airhawk.

I'll let you know how I get on, and post some photos.
