I haven't looked into this yet,so no research,just a passing idea.

If (if) I fabricate a manifold and given their size suits, would fitting a pair or simular of these work?

Why?,is something I ask myself alot..

one reason will be the need to balance the carbs, a pain in the neck todo

gives lumpy bottom end with unbalanced

also split throttle cable, not easy to find a spare one stuck at the side of the road

Double trouble- one carb more than enough hassle for me

There was a chopper in Jetset about 20 odd years ago with twin big carbs, looked a treat but I was told never ran right and Armandoes tried a twin carb Vespa conversion with similar bad results.

Don't know how much you know about these but they are as basic as it comes. Slide choke, needle and that's about it. Just rebuilt a mate's sons mini moto bike with a new one of these carbs. Cost £12 IIRC. I''d be surprised if they flowed enough fuel for a Lammy, even with two of 'em fitted

I wouldn't think that you would need to balance the carbs Dave, as they would beoth be working to the same cylinder.

I was thinking about a two carb manifold for the RB; a 24mm on each side of the engine. My reasoning was this. The manifold on the RB is partially obscured as it enters the reed cage. Why is 25% of the reed cage obscured? I haven't heard a decent explanation. However, if you cut out the ali in the manifold, as some tuners do already, and fitted two 24mm carbs, you would have the advantages of small carbs at low revs, and the same cross-sectional area as a 34mm carb at wide open throttle.

I suggested this to John Balcomb last week and he said that he'd try it if I built a manifold. I think that was his way of saying "go away and stop talking to me"

twin carbs on a single cylinder is a complete waste of time mate...............
sorry to sound abrupt or harsh................but its a fact.........
its a bit like trying to fit two expansion chambers onto a single cyl.................
having said that...........if you would like to try for just cosmetic reasons........then good luck...........

No Need! 2 into 1- flow issues for a start.. why are we using flatslide carbs? For flow.. less disruption. Less turbelance around the slide area...You'd be better looking at the carb, how it works in detail and seeing if they can be improved rather than introducing more issues.
