Wiring daytime running light

I have wired a daytime running light on a mates PX, fused feed from battery to relay, and found a wire in the horncast that had a insulated female spade connector on, not connected to anything that is live when bike is running, ideal, I thought for my switched feed. The problem I have is that the light strobes quickly, instead of being constant!
What was the feed for that I used, as It was not connected to anything?
and, is it this that is causing the strobing?
I have tested the light from my battery charger and its' fine, so its not the light that's at fault!

If the wire is grey it is probably pulsing from the indicator circuit. If the scoot is a late electric start model you should be able to take a switched live off the ignition switch purple .

Yes it is grey wack, what was that wire used for originally? I'll try during the week to find the purple.

No idea as to the grey, perhaps it is used on the assembly line as a check point?
