help needed removing the vairitronic flywheel , tryed to remove it using the proper tool and the thread inside the flywheel has started to strip , so now i cant even get the thread to start , has anyone got any ideas, Steve
...its usually the tool that strips.. grind a good lead/taper on the tool.. take your time getting the tool started on the thread and get it screwed down as far as it will go.. once you get it turning in.. work it in and out and then deeper in bit by bit.. like making love to a beautiful woman...

Lube the internal thread, and give it a scrub with a toothbrush and follow as above.

I had the exact problem on mine, it was so bad I thought the flywheel would be useless. I bought a new good quality flywheel removal tool and it came out no trouble. The tool I'd previously used had a sliding bar (probably Indian rubbish) I think the problem lies in the fact there's no dust cover and the thread gets bunged up, my solution to this was the plastic cap from a 4 pint milk carton/bottle. It's a snug fit and as yet hasn't moved
