Kill button trouble

I've had a few problems since last weekend (see other threads) that I've (hopefully ) sorted out now, one thing that still seems a mystery to me though is this:

When my kill button wire is connected to my cdi the scoot will start but run very poorly and sometimes wont start at all - quite bizarre, I've shortened the screw fixing the switch in place and tested it - you really have to push the button all the way in to make contact.

I will investigate further tommorow evening by removing the wire from the botton and trying it just held down to the frame manually.

It just seems very strange - nothing is shorting out under the headset and the circuit is open until the button is pushed in quite hard, maybe this problem and the failure of my LT coil is related - don't know?

Anyone any ideas ahead of me looking at it tommorow?

The problem may not be the cut out button itself, it could be the green wire shorting to earth somewhere else.

Yes matey, That had occurred to me too, I am going to remove the wire from the button tomorrow to try and eliminate this.

Cheers

Had a quick look tonight - it was a bit late so didn't want to start it up, tested the wire through its entirety and no fault was found anywhere and the button works as it should do.

One thing I did notice was a few strands of stray wire where the it is soldered onto the switch, they were about 2mm away from the headset, there is no way the two would touch directly but I'm guessing I could get arcing between the two causing the problem?
