How do all. Today I put some fresh fuel in mi tank, opened the fuel tap and noticed it leaking like mad. On closer inspection it's overflowing from above the inlet, after turning the fuel off, stripped off the float bowl I tried it again and lifted the float but it continued to flood. Took off the float (Double type) and it's only a 6.5 gram one. Carb is 30mm and fast flow tap, could an adult give me an idea what would be the best weight float to replace it with ?

its prob the needle valve that needs replacing only ..the tips get worn ...the float weight is fine

Thanks Sean, it's a new( unsprung) needle valve. Are there different sizes as this one seems small, maybe for a smaller carb?

what size is the tap jet ?...always replace both as a set unless you are sure ..for eg a 200 will not seal a 300 /350

No visible size on either needle valve as far as I can see but the new one is deffo smaller and unsprung than the older one I replaced it with which is sprung.

the size of the tap jet is always on it but hard to see unless you remove it or have a magnifying glass ...sprung ones are usually 250 plus

Had a good look with 3 different magnifying glasses and 3 sets of eyes but the only thing any of us an see is the diamond with INC inside it. No other markings seem to be visible. Been on the Dellorto website and they show 3 different needle valve categories ranging 150 - 225/ 250-400/ and another set 150-225 all with different part no's. Will call them tomorrow.

Spoke to the lads at euro carb today and found out the size of the float needle valve is on the chamber it sits in. If that's what you meant Sean, soz I didn't catch it yesterday
