Lock nut wire

I have never used the extended nuts with locking wire. Would some kind soul let me know the correct way to tie the wire between the two nuts.

you wire them so they can,t undo just look at the setup and work out which way you wire them to stop them undoing

That's all, is it best to go one side or the other, heard something about figure of eight!?
