Hi,

Couldn't find an answer to my question below, already posted on here, or a suitable post to reply to, so have created my own topic.

The CamLam website states "They (the Targa Dampers) will not fit with outboard hydraulic disc brakes unless modifications are made", so my question is, what modifications have to be made, and why???

There must be loads of people out there using these dampers with an outboard disc (ScootRs type etc.), so hopefully an easy one for someone to answer?

Also, can someone confirm the length - between mounting centres - when the dampers are extended to their maximum (ie. not fitted and fully extended)??

Mine are fitted with a PM double disc,so the fork links are swapped ,which means welding a place for the damper to bolt to.At the top the damper is mounted to the outside of the bracket.i used a nylon spacer inside the bracket and a long bolt through the lot.Works well for me.Hope this helps

Ok, thanks for that sonicdave though I'd still be interested to hear from someone who has fitted them with an outboard ScootRs disc, as keen to know what modifications need to be made to this setup, and why??

Tom I hade to do the same to mount mine...but I have turned them around I tried fitting different caliper brackets to lower the caliper...the extended length hole to hole 24.5 cm

There is no mention of having to do this on this post in the Dealers product secition http://scooterotica.org/forum/viewtopic ... 12&t=28855 and the pic makes it look as though they've been mounted normally?!

I watched a friend of mine fit his last week on a scoot with a ScootRs disc , no modifications that i saw , just bolted them on

Just wondered if anyone else is using these Targa Front Dampers with a ScootRs outboard disc (with or without anti-dive) and can comment on the fitment, and confirm whether modifications had to be made to make them fit??

Took me the best part of ten minutes to remove the escort dampers and fit the targa ones Tom. GP forks,straight on no adjustment- thats with the outboard obviously.

So there is no way the dampers would or could touch or foul any part of the disc brake assembly, even when the suspension is fully compressed??
