Hi everyone, i'm having a problem replacing my tyres wih the Sip tubeless ones . The problem is that the longer studs provided by Sip are 10mm while the thread on the indian hub is 9mm. They dont mention about this on the Sip page.
I went to a tools shop to see if i could re-thread with helicoil the holes in the hubs but looks like noone has invented helicoil for left threaded studs yet
Once again a simple thing turning into a nightmare...  I dont have to buy new hubs for this reason do i? Also cause i like my Sil chrome hubs a lot and i wouldnt like to change them...Does anyone of you know some shop that sells longer M9 studs for Lambretta that fit the indian hubs AND the sip rims at the same time?

Any suggestion appreciated. Thanks.

You could try MB's i know he does his own studs for the sip rims, maybe able to do 9mm, i've done 5 SIL Hubs now & all mine went straight in Back hubs), strange....

Sorry there a mistake in the title i meant "Sip tubeless on Sil hubs" maybe someone could edit the title.. the problem is that i can't screw in the longer studs supplyed by SIP onto the SIL hubs since the hubs holes have a 9mm thread and the SIp studs are 10 mm.. and the Sil hubs holes cant be helicoiled... noone here with SIl hubs that has had the same problem?

Apparently, Ramp rear hubs are known to have smaller studs.........

As above, it could be a RAMP hub which have different size threads to the SIL/Italian hubs. Plus some bad press about RAMP hubs. I've got a nice RAMP chrome one on my shelf that I keep looking at and grimacing.

Sorry i dont understand why you keep it on your shelf? You mean is bad quality in spite of the catchy look?

Ok i'm reading a few treads here and there and i'm getting an idea about Ramp hubs etc... i thought they were Sil since my bike is a GP Sil 80. Actually my both tyres are like disformed... and apparently i could find no reason for that (or maybe i've just found it?!) Thats why i bought the Sip tyres..i thought the reason was the poor quality of the Dunlop tyres made in India... but at this point i dunno what to think anymore really... M9 left treaded.. the seller at the tools shop couldnt believe that! :? :o

Are UNI hubs ok? Or FA Italia? Which one is best?
