t5 172 info needed

ok came from cov yesterday had a slight heat sieze I was hammering it but caught it in time ( carb had came loose ) now I need to no does the kit have a head gaskit as mine as also theres a slight indent in the middle of the piston ..is that ignition as ive been told to leave it on the marc cheers

i might be wrong and forgive me if i am but im pretty sure thats a sign of pre ignition so the timings out and will soon hole the piston if it carries on like that, but await the reply of more seasoned professionals

dont confuse matters here ,it has only siezed and burnt the top of your piston because of the air leak and hence lean mixture ...presuming you had your timing set as malossi recomend 14 btdc

shaun ive turned my stator a 1.5 mill anti clock wise from stock is that about right it seems a lot better

can some one tell me to put my mind at rest to go from 16 d to 14 d on my timing do I go clockwise or anti clockwise cheers

Clockwise. If you did anti clockwise 1,5 mm you are aprox. 18 BTDC. That plus an air like = caput.

To really set accurately your engine timing you need a timing gun, don't trust the factory marcs.
