Lectron Carbs

I am Thinking of using a Lectron carb ,i have seen these carbs on Scooters are the any good and who is using one

I'd definitely use one on my RB sprint engine if I could find one at the right money. Artie at Foxhat [who built my RB] rates them highly.

They look the 'dogs' them, and no messing about with jetting etc. Is it really that easy to set them up?

There was a thread about Lectron carbs a while back. Do a search. Think it was in the last 18 months, but I am on old fecker, so probs about 5 years ago :lol:

How are these carbs different from cheaper Tillotson carbs ??

I don't know about different, i have read reviews watched you tube .They Perform really well on the Honda CR 250, it makes sense to me as I am going to use this Barrel on my GP

Video 8 was interesting where he used a digital laser temp guage (which I happen to have ) to measure EGT. I suppose you'd point it at the down pipe around 10cm. from the flange and see what temp you get. Adjust the carb to get the lowest reading at tickover and then see what temps occur at different throttle positions. What would be suggested EGT for an Avanti kit? I imagine someone out there has an EGT fitted to an Avanti by now.
