If it s been covered my apologies, basically a Rapido 225 race with 30mm Dell orto and Fresco exhaust, what I need to know is whats the ideal settings as I already have it set at 19 deg whereas looking at some of the comments, some are saying 16 due to the fuel etc any advice please before I finally get back on the road cheers fellas...... 8-)

Unless you have a bucket for a cylinder head (i.e. very low compression) then I would not be looking to set this at any more than 17. With reasonable compression then 17 is about right. With high compression then 16 is safer with today's pump fuel.

My thoughts only!

Agree with Adam, was running my race 225 at 15BTDC static last year which was overly cautious really. Have now altered it to 17 but may drop back to 16 , I'll see how it goes. Spoke to ben at AFR the other day and he said 19,but as has been already said with sh*t fuel etc . I'd rather err on the side of caution and maybe loose a bit of performance & drop the timing.

Excellent stuff, thanks gents, as mentioned above 19 seems the recommended, however , with the fuel situation as it is best safe than sorry cheers again..........

Just to be awkward I always use 18 degrees BTDC with any compression between 8 and 10/1.
