What mpg should I be getting from my 220 malossi, set up is 30 delly carb,210 malossi kit (old type) rd type reed valve,60mm bell crank, casings matched to cylinder and rz right hand pipe, its doing about 30mpg and I got a standard tank so loads of stops when doing a run,any way of increasing fuel economy without losing to much power.

cheers Jeff

I used to get about between 60-70 miles per tank with a similar set up. Couldn't really go anywhere without a petrol can on the back.

What answer did you expect?

I'll expand then..

When you're riding, are you always caning it? Is every ride a race?
Is your gearing super low, causing you to be doing 7/8/9k revs everywhere?
When you're tipping along at a steady rate, is your throttle all the way open, or have you had it set up so that it runs nicely with a 1/4 throttle?
When you go up hills, do you accept you're going to be going a bit slower, or do you open it up to speed up a bit?

Do you really need such a big carb on it?

On mine, I always thought at 50 miles, start looking for a petrol station to be safe........... seems par for the course....

As said already, if you are not thrashing it everywhere then something is certainly not right. Assuming everything is generally ok with your engine and you are riding it normally then it is either leaking or jetting. If the float bowl level is too high some carbs leak petrol out of the carb breather holes when you rev it. Most likely though is your pilot jet is too big or your atomiser is too big. Making either of these smaller will not affect top speed any :D

Jack, what is smaller/bigger (and richer/leaner) when it comes to atomisers?

So, what jets/atomiser you got fitted right now? ;)

The atomiser number is the size. As small as possible (often rnds up as 264 on a Malossi). You feel the atomiser size when the throttle is open an 1/8th
