loose steering bearings possibly?

Try applying the front brake as you push the scooter forward with your feet and, at the same time, place the thumb of your left hand over the joint between the lower headset and the legshield.

Can you feel any movement as you rock the bike backwards and forwards with the front brake on?

I've tried doing as asked cannot feel any play to be honest just this knock sound when pushing down on headset and letting off again with front brake applied . I've rechecked dampers settings as recently fitted I'm totally miffed now wot to do next . Do I renew fork bearings top and bottom to be on safe side :?:

Forks might needed tightening in headset. Took mine to Bedlams in Bedford on Friday and Richard tightened them up. Only took about 15 mins.

Might be worth taking the dampers off and seeing if it's the same to eliminate them.

Also worth checking the axle nuts ate tight and the fit of the peg in the brake backplate.

Ian is a best mate but don't discount Richard, he knows all about scooters and is there during the week. Mark who now runs the mower side of the business wrote manuals/ books on Lambretta's..... 8-)

I had the headset/fork clamp crack either side of the fork stem. That caused quite a bit of a knocking noise
