PHBH 30 - Throttle Cable Adjustment?

I've installed a tuned PX motor with 30mm PHBH carb into my Motovespa 150s - and I'm having a problem with getting the throttle cable to operate the carb slide.

Basically the standard throttle cable I had in was too short to connect to the PHBH carb - so I bought a Malossi PHBH throttle cable from SIP - but when i've fitted it, the inner is now too long to allow the throttle to operate the slide.... and I don't know how to go about adjusting the slack on the cable??

Is it a case of cutting off the existing solder nipple on the cable end (carb end) & using a screw on cable nipple in its place (to adjust the slack) - or is there another way?

on a lammy, the solderless nipple would be at the other end....

The cable is maybe made to include a 90 degree adjuster screwed into the carb top. This is to stop the panel bending the cable, other than that cut the nipple off at the throttle pulley and use a screw nipple.

Cheers Wack - Sorted

Put the 90 deg cable blend thingy on, cut nipple off @ throttle end & fitted a screw nipple in place of...... Slack taken up & throttle now works like it should :D

At this rate of learning - I'll be building me own engines before long...!!!

I use the APE throttle cable, known as the extra long, also very good for installing outers. Always very good to keep one as a spare. Its that long you can fit a new outer and feed the excess through the old outer in the frame and pull it through with the new outer replacing the old outer. I also use the throttle cable as a cable choke on the PHBH carburettor.
