Finally got my taffspeed copy zorst bolted on.. sounds the nuts

But...it does bash the bottom of the sidepanel (bent that in a bit, seems fine)..

I have also cut a section out of the footboard so it doesn't foul that as badly... but... still not quite enough clearance and it actually rubs on the bolt that holds the floorboard runner in place..

Is there a way of increasing the clearance?
Different shock, maybe?? ... Got a standard escort on there at the mo

Some advice would be appreciated

Exact same problem I've had with my new one , must be design is made a little difference to last ones I've had to remove rear runners completely and having new short ones made . The end can sit so much higher up as well , I've removed rear hanging brackets completely or the exhaust would have been damaged plus I didn't want to start chopping my Italian rear mint runners

Plus fitted a genuine end can support bracket from taffy as the crap one supplied didn't line up

The bracketry on mine is different and the end can doesn't seem to sit as high as yours
You can see where I've bent the bottom of the panel in, this bit seems ok now
Also, my footboard runner was bolted on with a non standard nut n bolt, replaced this with a much shorter one and trimmed some more off the footboard
You can also see where the original bolt was rubbing on the zorst, as well as the panel
why don't things just fit properly?

Some on here will say cus it's a copy only difference is rear end can support bracket and price as said when I went to put my runners on I could see the issues and thought no chance il save them and exhaust from damage and get short runner plus getting them painted turquoise

Look at hanger bracket before I removed them too close to exhaust

Move the end can bracket to the other side of the chaincase bracket and file or machine the bolt head down in thickness, cured it on mine

I have had exactly the same trouble.
I made the holes taller in the main bracket to drop the pipe by a few mm's.
The other trouble I have is the stand feet touching the the pipe.

Yes got some cut scaffold tube to open stand legs out abit as well

I'm sure Ian Frankland's faith in human nature must be diminished by scooterists continuing to use the good name of "Taffspeed" in the same breath as these poor fitting Vietnamese copies.

If British scooterists were prepared to pay a fair price for an excellent product, then these exhausts would still being made to this day. Sadly, too many of our fraternity persist in buying cheap shiny bling with little or no thought as to how it compliments their set up.
