I cannot start my rebuild series 1 with the kill switch connected to the cdi, i have check the cabling which is new and resoldered a new pice of wire onto the kill switch which still hasnt sorted the problem.

I cannot see anything wrong with the kill switch, but are they prone to failure? They appear very simple

Is there anything else i should be checking before i purchase a new kill switch

Are you sure you aren't shorting your connection to earth?

Connect one contact on a multimeter on beep to green wire between the switch and the cdi.

Connect the other to earth.

You should only get a beep when you press the button. If it beeps any other time you have a short

Does it start if you disconnect that wire from the CDI?

Bear in mind you'll either need to reconnect it while it's running (shock risk) or stall it to stop it if it does.

Been a while since I messed with one with a kill switch, but check between where the green connects to the switch and earth. If it disconnects there try on the terminal and earth.
