what are my options for a simple engine upgrade for my 64 LIS150 special ? I don't wish to do anything complicated or costly at this stage just bolt on a little more grunt would be nice .

I'm probably going to do very little long distance motorway miles its probably going to be mostly country B roads around Somerset & Dorset .
No idea what the scoot will do currently but it would be good to cruise about 60mph if thats possible .? and not hold up all the cyclists at the crossroads lol

Mugello is a bit pricey ..........is the performance increase over stock really that good ?

Are there no cheaper options ?

If you want cheap, this may suit.
Not sure that cheap will equal (true) 60mph cruising though.
You would have to check that it's suitable for for your 150 casing and ancillarys.

I've had Muggelo and imola kits both top notch but yes pricey yet again u will only pay once with them . Even with theses kits I wouldn't want to sit cruising at 60mph for to long as to much strain on engine . It's not just a choice of bolt on kit u need to uprated crank , clutch , carb , exhaust to all suit . I'm now running a 200 Muggelo small block on my li125s casing

GT186 kit all day long for me, but you will have to put a decent crank on it & a 25mm carb or around that area. If you want something cheap to do 65 tops then the alloy 200 conversions will be ok, but you will need to tidy up the porting & probably take it out to stage 4.

I have the Rt kit big disappointment
I would have gone for the GT now.
Have a look at the gory kits on Cambridge lambretta site they look good too.

yes thats what I read after doing some more searching around. The Bristol lambretta club small block tuning guide was very helpful.
http://www.bristollambretta.com/smallblocktuning.htm

I'm really not looking to squeeze every gram of power from the engine with a Tsi and uprate suspension carbs etc I'm just looking for a nice simple bolt on power increase from increasing the cubes.
I will probably upgrade the exhaust though which should release some power cheaply.

Most of my miles will be 25-50Mph around windy twisty country lanes with poor roads and poor visibility and tight passing places .

Anyway last night I bought a 200cc cylinder kit for just over £100 and I could mess about matching the ports if I want I guess.
it will be interesting to log the improvement before and after fitting.

Just make sure that the rest of the motor isn't worn out. If your bike chucks out say, 8hp and you put a basic kit on it that makes it put out 10hp,then that's a 20% increase in power,.so just be prepared.
