hi, just about to build engine up with new imola kit and whilst I will be having it tweaked on a dyno I wondered if someone can give me a starting point for jetting as I am going to have to ride the scoot the 10 miles or so to the dyno and don't want to be way out on settings and damage/hole the piston etc .
set up will be -
30phbh
franspeed race
Li150 box
timing currently set at 17 btdc static.
Thanks.

Have a look through the carb set ups bazza, sure theres a set up for imola with 30mm delly in there, but always remember er on the side of caution on new builds and keep it rich, 10 miles is more than enough to wreck a new motor if running lean

Hi Bazza I run an Imola that was tuned by Dan, my settings are as follows,
30 phish, mj132, pilot 55, AV266,x13 3rd clip, 300 float valve. It runs open mouthed, otherwise same spec as yours. Have fun. My set up is also listed in the carb set ups.

Many thanks for the replies . My current settings are the same as yours andy apart from the main which is a 124 at the moment although i do have jets ranging from 115 up to 132 so il put the largest in and also order a few bigger ones just in case. Is the timing ok at 17° static. Cheers.baz.

Timing at 17 degrees is what Dan told me to set mine to, i did have it at 19 before and it went very well.
What sprockets are you using? mine runs 16/47 (giving 4.99:1 on Li box) again Dan's advice, plenty fast enough (Gps 82mph with some left) without wanting to wheelie everywhere as it used to when it had a GP150 box and 15/46 in there. Yes it was fun but trying to run it in was a nightmare, so I changed the sprockets to make it easier to ride.
Although I am now tempted to go back to 15/46 with the Li box as I am about to start building a Touring engine for me and the missus (see Engine advice thread) and keep this as my toy to blast round on.
Enjoy it.

Was running 16/46 (4.89) with my gt kit which it pulled ok even with my 16 stone bulk astride it . From what ive read i dont reckon my new imola will pull that so prob put the 15/46 in (5.2) an see how it goes.
Cheers. Baz
