px rear hub oil seals

got p200e with what appears to be later px casings as hub oil seal is internal.
Question: Is it safe to ditch external dust seal and use the external type oil seal to allow use of an unshielded bearing and aid ease of changing seals in the future. I have 30mm od hub centre and matching 29.89mm id external oilseal (tora). cant see any drain off holes in the casing (as i;ve read people mentioning these needing sealingoff with epoxy .
