ok i need help running a li 175 with early type pacemaker li 150 gear box 3rd gear 39 tooth has destroyed its self as they do! i need to replace it but ive read on forums the l8r stronger type does not mesh with the early gear cluster! ive also read that people are replacing these with sx200 37 tooth 3rd gears and the work the same with no problems can anyone confirm this or give me some advice cheers

the lambretta gearbox is week point,so mix-matching gears that are not of the same diameter and pitch of gears is really not to be done,if you try this it could easily break a tooth and bust a hole in the case, much cheaper and easier to get the correct toothed cog,it does compare with several other lambretta boxes that are crap ratios and will be cheap,try an advert on here for the correct cog £10-15 should be the maximum you would be expected to pay!
