My kickstart sits about 1/2inch lower than the stop. Is this normal and if not what's the problem?

Turn it round a spline?

If I adjust it on the spline it's then too high and the gearbox rumbles. I will have adjust the ramp then. Looks like I will have to get Stickys bible out.

did this recently when fitting a new chain case and found the easiest way for me to get the kickstarter sitting in the recess but the ramp at the right adjustment was to lever the kickstarter against my chest and push the casing away from me rather than faffing around with clamps etc... dunno if that makes any sense but hey ho!
