head retorque
HI, regarding retorquing the cylinder head , I no this has to be done after a certain amount of miles after rebuild and assume this is because the top end will have gone through a heat cycle or two. if that's the case can you not just let the engine warm up and cool down a few times on the stand and therefore before the head cowl has been fitted and then retorque or does the engine have had to be under load ?
Anyone ?

Thats what I do and I`m pretty sure iv`e read somewhere that the tuning fellas do the same.
Iv`e just rebuilt mine and fired it up on monday. Tomorrow i`ll do the same to strobe it, let it cool and re-torque and then fit the tin wear ready for the season...... hopefully
