If your clutch is gone does it mean you can get 2 gears and not all 4 ? i thought it would be all or nothing (maybe first with a struggle )

Going back to my other thread of stiff gears(says first and second work but cant get it in third or fourth ) the bloke now says that the clutch is knackered .I said you would not be able to use 2 gears and not the others if the clutch was gone and had previously told him to change the cables and then just adjust them up but he is adamant the clutch has gone and mechanics have told him as well (he has taken it to nearly every garage in Bristol to get the answer he wanted )
The fact is i rebuilt that clutch with new everything bar the cradle and have used it without any problem for over a thousand miles .I think he is looking for problems and i know there is nothing wrong but just wanted to make sure there is no weird way that it might be doing what he says it is .Mind you i have seen pictures of him out on it sunday so i can't be that bad

From experience ,most bike shops know f@@k all about scooters so I would rule them out. Then there are folks that can't ride a scooter to save their lives but insist on having one with no mechanical knowledge whatsoever. The amount of mates that have had a scooter for years and then sold them only to break after a week is a joke, that's why it's always best to sell "Sold as seen, tried and tested" -now p155 off

How about get him to bring the engine round, and take it apart in front of him? For every sign of damage that's caused by the operator being a fuckwit, he gets one swipe round the head with a torque wrench.

I like your thinking

Wozza, he never turned up at mine,
Maybe it was too far in second gear

Out of interest, what 'scooter' shops are left in Bristol??
Downend, don't count,
Fowlers are more Fowl-ups,
Fanatics aren't trading for repairs,
Bullets gone,

That only leaves Leggy at Get Smart, and he would have been able to fix it, and is also blunt enough to tell him he is a fuckwit if thats what he is.

Keep us posted, I'm curious now 8-)

Ah, forgot Tom from the BLC, he's up and trading now, I am sure he will report on it soon.

He was bringing it to you Shaun another bloke was looking at then someone else then he took it to a mechanic then he took it to Fowlers and that's where i glazed over .Seems like he just wants someone to tell him what he wants to hear but won't try anything that i suggest .Apparently one pointed out that the pin in the selector was a bit worn but he ignored that as well
What annoys me the most is i just know he will be telling anyone that will listen i deliberately sold him a dud and wouldn't help him at all which i know isn't true
