Which Performance air filter is the least restrictive for a 30mm-35mm Carb with a hole in the panel.... Ive always use a "Ram Air Filter" and have always used it because it seems to work... But I was wondering what else is available and which would prove the most free flowing.... as there are many I have never used.... and I will never know any difference unless I try somthing else... :?

Avoid the S&B or K7N stylr filters. They restrict compared to the Ramair, which I have found to be the best

Thanx for the reply... I must have struck lucky when I bought my filters... as I didnt try any other filters prior to these I just always ran my cast iron barrel's without an air filter on a big carb...

I was looking for any improvement that could be made without further tuning, and I thought a more free flowing less restrictive filter would help.... But going by the lack of replys... perhaps I have already fitted the best thats available...
Once again... Thanx Knowledge... for the reply 8-)

I'd imagine it's a case of "the bigger the better" as there's more surface area to allow air flow. I've got some that must be at least 4 inches wide and deep, but they ain't gonna fit under any panels.

i use a standard bellows which fits my 28 carb mouth, i bought a blue scooter filter off ebay for £4 it seems the same as the ramair. Is there something special about these filters that a pair of unused tights wouldnt solved - no "fishy" jokes to follow pls. I put a bit of gauze over my dellorto, that said the filters on ebay for other types of scooter are the same size but a 1/5 of the price am i missing something about what a performance one is?
