I've got a Taffspeed road race tuned TS1 kit which i have never run. According to the port timing calculator with a 58/107 crank, the exhaust duration will be 193.6 degrees and transfers 125.1. I've got a Taffy copy pipe to go with it.
My questions are:
1. With this exhaust duration will it be any good as a road going scooter or will the power be too high up the rev range?
2. If it is any good as a road going scooter will a 30mm PHBH Dellorto carb be OK with it or would I have to run a larger carb?

I've just had a long chat with Ian Frankland and given him all the port dimensions over the phone and he has confirmed this is one of his barrels. Although the exhaust timing is 193.6, the top of the exhaust curves out to this rather than being straight across the barrel which allows the gases to escape more gradually. He assures me this should be a quick motor and that a 30mm PHBH Dellorto is more than enough carb for it. Happy Days
