I got the scooter new from AF's. UWU216X, I wonder if it's still OTR.
Riding it home, the lights and ignition failed, arrr 'the good old days'. It also put a hole in the piston while running it in. Kempy, repaired it, up-jetted the 32 Amal and wow it shifted, power wheeled in second. This was probably down to the better petrol back then, I believe.
I also got it serviced at Kempy's by 'Daft Dave'. He didn't tighten up the flywheel and 2 miles up the road, going over a railway line, the woodruff key snapped. It was a long walk back but fortunately Kempy spotted us, driving home and fixed it for us while slagging off 'Daft Dave', he was daft by-the-way.
The carb was scary in the rain. The slide would stick!! Chrome slide was the answer, cost a tenner I seem to remember.
I also spent a bit time getting all the hubs painted up etc and getting the tank, toolbox chromed etc.
Happy days

Someone kindly emailed this other pic. The red GP was also owned by me and I went to Scarborough on that in 81. I sold it to Dean Pankhurst and he rode it there in 82. I didn't know at the time but it was a rare all red GP125, I also put that daft little bar on, it was off some old electrical switch gear. I wonder if it's still OTR, I can't see the full reg?
