SIL Elec' Flywheel Boss
I've just got a lightened electronic flywheel but the boss hasn't been strengthened. Has anyone taken out the old boss rivets and put anything better in?
yeah. high tensile M6 counter sunk bolts from the inside,( I counter sink the boss) and flat washers /nylocks/Loctite on the outside. I tap the holes to M6 as well, they don't need drilling,the tap goes through nice as is. a mate did every other hole instead of all of them , and his has been on for years no probs. last one I did, I peened the end of the bolts over as well to make sure they didn't come loose, supporting the inside on a metal block held in the vice. watch out for the height of any thread protruding on the outside , or the flywheel dust cover may not fit.
