sil gp crankshaft

I bought a sil gp 200 crank off fleabag 5 years or so ago.
I want to eventually rebuild my li150 s2 and make it 175 or 185.
Should I ditch the crank? Get a new big end and conrod or buy a crank.
If replacing con rod do you have any recommendations as to what size or who does it and cost?

IMHO and based on my personal experience

Keep the webs and rebuild with AF RB 107 rod kit ... straight fit no problems minimal work (no machining etc)

Top crank for little money

Just looking on AF website they list
REPLACE 22MM PIN INDIAN ROD KIT WITH RB ROD KIT @£112.34
and also
RB CONROD KIT 107MM @£120.00
I'm reading that as being more expensive to buy the rod kit than it is to buy one and have it fitted. I must be missing something.

You could just get the big end bearing replaced with a quality one as that's the weak link with the SIL crank especially as you're not looking at mega tuning your engine. I'd imagine that'll cost about £40.

Ring AF for clarification [between 5 and 6 pm is the best time to call them] 01944 710693

Thanks guys. I not had time to ring yet, been busy fitting laminate flooring :\.
Cost of a Conrod kit appears to be more than a new MEC crank.
I will ring and see what they say.

Scooter restos SIL crank fitted with Jap bearing seems to be well thought of on the forums/
http://www.scooterrestorations.com/lamb ... d-bearing/ at £80
That's probably your cheapest option as you could sell on your existing SIL crank, or upgrade it for future use if you plan on doing any tuning.
