I'm about to start a rebuild of my Avanti engine which has a SIL crank with a 110 Yam rod fitted (done by Dave Betts). Any recommendations for a quality replacement big end pin and bearing and what size do I need to look for?
Cheers
Colin

You should be able to use the SIL big end pin.

So the big end bearing is the same internal size as a Lambretta one?

Yes as far as I know. I buy the rods, give them to mechanic and he sorts it using the SIL pin. The pins are only good for the later SIL cranks, like the ones you get now.

ive used sil pins, with yam rod and bearing from yambits RD250 dx...ive also shortened the original yam pin too to suit the lambretta (40.5mm),i guess you know you need to machine the crank webs if you intend to use big end shims.

Col, my ts1 crank has a shortened Kawasaki pin and the Gt 186 with the rd400 Conrod has the Yamaha one fitted too. I think the big end bearing is rd500 on the gt186 at least

I'm pretty sure that Grampian re-used the SIL pin when they fitted a Yam 110 rod with RD500 bearing to my SIL crank.
Edit,
Thinking about it I could be wrong, my memory isn't brilliant, but they did a couple of cranks for me, one a 110 and one a 115, I'm sure I've still got the SIL rods knocking about but don't remember having any pins so I'd assumed that they re-used the SIL pin. I wouldn't bet my next meal on it though.
