Hello folks
Been toying with the idea of buying a small compressor to try my hand at painting, any clues as to where is the best place to get one, and what kind of price ?
Thanks for any help

Sorry don't know the answer to the compressor question but when you start painting may be able to get you Wet or Dry at a good price and top quality stuff.

I have been toying with this idea as well. Machine Mart sell them. The cost of all the other additions put me off.

A 2hp machine Mart should do you with a cheap gravity fed gun. Small and portable about 120 and 20 for the gun. You can also get a cheap air gauge direct on the gun stops you spraying at too high a psi.

The best spray gun would be a HVLP but saying that i have had very good results using this cheap kit

It's all in the prep

I used one of these to spray my Gulf themed Jet a couple of years ago

I was amazed at the results, there was some orange peal but that was probably down to me not using the included viscosity cup to get the correct amount of thinners.
Preparation is key to getting a decent finish.

What about this kit, would this be good enough for spraying a scooter and using some air tools. Sorry don't know if the link will work, it may need to be copy/paste

It would be ok for spraying (just) but apart from inflating tyres, it wouldn't be powerful enough to run any air tools, the tank is too small and although they don't state the air delivery rate, with only 15hp, it won't be much.

Even rattle cans can turn out good with good prep
Both done with rattle cans
