I need to get one of these for the shed so .....are they all much the same or are there types to be avoided ?
They do seem to vary a fair bit in price ....cheers
Fork Spring Compressor
Get a good pair that have the bits that screw in where the fork link bolts go. I bought a cheap one that just had holes in where the bits that screw in should be. Ended up tapping those holes and putting my own screws in. For the extra ten or fifteen quid i wish i'd have bought a better quality one from the start.

Which I have many many of ......can you describe how you use one to to this .....free huge AF ring spanner to a the first pic that makes sense to me ....trust me I`ve got loads ....
If you have stickies book its in there. Once you have your fork link in and your forks upside in a vice you can get the ring part of the spanner in the link where it would attach to the hub and pull down on the spanner to give you room to put the bottom buffer in. Beware that if you use uprated springs it will require all your strength! I nearly broke my wooden bench that the vice is held on to when i done mine
