steel or fibreglass engine cowlings?

Have the choice of either but am trying to fit as much weight saving fibreglass to my new S1 so was wondering what difference to cooling fitting the fg cowling items would make. Im assuming that the flywheel cowling isn't an issue but what about the cylinder cowling - how important a role, being made of metal, does this play in heat loss?
Cheers

I run carbon fibre on a TS1 without issue and MB's latest cowls are plastic.

I'm waiting on those Turbo Cowls.
However update from MB !
"Update 30.4.2009. Due to manufacturing problems that could not be cured in plastic forming stage we are now looking into having a Carbon fibre head cowl made."

vespas have used plastic cyl cowels for years.............
so long as they are not too tight fitting onto fins.......otherwise they can melt a bit...........

Ian, have you thought about "The Atkins Diet"? Rather than putting the S1 on a diet
