Converting a 6V stator to 12V

I've got a Rally with a very late engine. It has "normal" electronic ignition but all of the lights are 6V.

I could buy a new stator but is it possible to rewire the existing one to give 12V? If I wired all of the lighting coils in series (like a 12V Lambretta) would that work?

Cheers.

you especially need a 12v regulator and a new CDI. Rewiring unnecessary.

you can get 6v halogen bulbs, straight plug in on a Rally, I put one in my mates "76 Rally. 100% improvement.

You'll get the double voltage but only half the amps. Without changing stator and coils the effect (power) will be the same in watt.
