I have a strange problem with the plastic float on my fuel gauge sender unit.
Over a couple of years hidden away inside the tank it has filled up with petrol to the point where its about 85% full.
There are no obvious holes in the ping pong ball sized white plastic float and if I put the thing in boiling hot water there is nothing escaping from anywhere I can see (I'd expect the last air to come out at least).
I've tried all ways to get it to leak out and it wont - so how the devil did it get in there and how do I get it out and then seal it?
Anything legal considered!

Alternatively any idea where I might get a replacement?
