Anyone have any experienceof these, do they protect the floor itself, stop water ingression and rust or are they just a water trap that in fact just makes matters worse? Personally i dont think they look great but if they do the job then it would make sense to use them in our more unclement weather.
Discuss please

a decent floor mat was a "must have" back in the 1960's.
They did protect/ hide the paintwork BUT they are indeed a trap for moisture and the ensuing rust that can follow.
I happen to like a nice original "Diamante" (spelling?) mat (not those bleedin awful ones that have no shape for the floor runners), but make sure I remove it when the scooter is tucked up for the night. Not everyones choice, but I like them

yeah thats what i thought water would hit inside of leggies run down between the top of the mat and the runners and collect in the bottom. will have to give this some thought as i may not be the type who remebers toremove them and then wipe the scoot down....

At the end of the day its an area that gets wet, no wetter than it would without a mat but a little water will stay in a long time. I had to split mine as the LI is an early one with the low bridge. The uprights that hold the centre were too tall so I had to glue the middle on. It has stopped the centre from getting scratched and scuffed around the brake peddle. I simple take off both sides and hang them up and no I don't wipe it down.

got them on my spesh..... CASA , fit well , and in keeping with the style of the scooter. got them because my bikes been painted twelve year, and the floor was looking a bit scratched. mind, i had a black set on my GP200, and they looked good as well. all indian they were......... STEELBIRD! i suppose it"s the style of the scooter , if they will look ok or not. never had a problem with moisture. washed it once a week , with mats /panels off, and dry"ed it after. the amount of fannying on we do on our scooters, you"ll probly dry it every time you go out! don"t worry about it. buy /fit/ ride/enjoy.
