What's this?

Looking in my garage I came across the original top end that came on my Lis150 engine, the piston is a 65mm asso 2 ring, the barrels ports all look standard and I'm thinking of building it back up after getting the engine case fixed any ideas?

Sounds like a 190 top end to me.

Do you think it's worth putting back on the road,it had a 125 gearbox and standard sprockets but no carb. Thinking a 20 mill dellorto that I have in the shed

I run a 190 with standard 20 carb, 125 gears but with a 17/46 combo. Works great for everyday. Fast enough to keep up and reliable enough to not have to worry about it.

What sort of speeds does it put out? I presume a bit better than a bog standard 150, and does the gearbox/sprocket combination pull better?

I've hit 64mph (gps, Garmon forerunner) on a long flat straight. Kept pace with a 03 PX 200 no problem on a long ride back from a track near here.
4th is kind of a dog up hills but 1-3 are great. You'd have to run the gearing calculator but it's somewhere around 5.1 fdr if I remember right.
Sr186 cylinder with rt64 piston
Stock 6v points
Stock factory exhaust, ceramic coated, de-restricted (a little bit).
20mm sh2 bored out to 21mm
De-restricted air box
So nothing huge in way of tuning, just lots of little things to make it breath better. I wouldn't take it on the highway but in town and in the hills it's perfect.

I would want to take it on the open road and it seems as though it would be fast enough for the traffic, is it not a reliable set up. This is a cast iron barrel that I'll be running and it'll have 12 v electrics when i build it back up.

Totally reliable, I'd have no problem rolling off a couple hundred miles on it. It's my everyday bike. It's just not fast enough to keep from getting run over by cagers!
