When it won't start are the warning lights out and do they flicker on and off?
I've had a few where the contacts on the back of the ignition switch are worn.
It's a cheap plug in part

So it turns over ok but won't start?
I had problems with my GT200 it started to run badly backfire, cutting etc then had problems starting, I done all the usual plug, plug cap, HT lead, coil, stripped cleaned the carb tested the auto choke, it turned out to be tight valves, adjusted them and it was fine after and run better than it ever has. I'm not saying that's your problem but it might be worth checking out.

I know there was a problem with the immobiliser caused by electrical interference due to faulty plug cap, but as yours is showing ok it's prob not that.
