vespa 90 question

right here goes, not very familiar with smallframe engines but have one in bits now,i need to know whether between the flywheel side bearing and the casing is there a spacer?it shows one in the manual but cant seem to find one anywhere or is it not needed/superceded?,i am using a one piece bearing
any feedback appreciated

Can I suggest you join the Smallframe forum, some experts on there. I've never come across a spacer between the casing and the bearing as standard.

I'm pretty sure the original "small door" small frames used a spacer. These are the engines with smaller cylinder spigots and two pronged sliding dogs in the gearbox. Here is a parts book that shows the spacer you are talking about:

I'm pretty sure they did away with this spacer when the original primavera came out.

Interesting, I've never worked on one of the real early motors, nice bit of info.
