It's a pig to start after a few days, kicks off fine over a days use. Spark plug, HT, CDI, choke plunger all OK. 28 Dell' on an iron barrel. Rubber hose on carb with grill on the top to stop things falling in. Compression fine. BGM stator and an Agusto box. I'm wondering about the box but that would mean resetting the timing etc.
Normally, I can work stuff like this out but this time I'm stumped.

Try it without the grill and hose..

I tried that Timbo and it's still the same. I can only think it's carb related as once going it's fine all day stopping and starting. The choke plunger is fine and the jetting seems spot on as the scoot runs great but what could it be???

When I had this problem, I was told to switch the petrol tap off before switching ignition off to try and drain some fuel from chamber. Something to do with oil settling at the bottom... ....don't know how true, but it worked for me.
I also start the scooter with just the choke on and when I have it started, then switch the fuel on.

Ditto fella .... i work away too sometimes for weeks on end so she sits there without being started as the wife wont kick it over ! so i do the above & she fires up 3 or 4th kick.

You checked the head gasket?

I do that, but I've been wondering if the Indian petrol tap is allowing enough fuel to flood it a bit over a few days,even when I've turned if off 50 yards before I stop. I think I'll change the tap. I've got an old OMG one somewhere.

Disconnect the pipe from the carb and put the pipe over a jug to see if any drips out when its switched off at the tap

check your float valve hasnt worn,look for a ring on the rubber where it seats,fuel will pass flooding your carb causing starting issues as you described

Choke working OK ?
